India has a very rich tradition of classical dance.The forms of Indian dance have transcended beyond the fences and socio-cultural hindrances.The Indian Classical Dance is often regarded as the form of worship and meditation.
Six style of classical dance:
Bharatanatyam is a classic dance form originating in Tamil Nadu, a state in South India and is the known as the Indian National Dance.Bharatanatyam is usually accompanied by the classical Carnatic music(considered one of the oldest systems of music in the world,it requires much thought, both artistically and technically).
Kathak, originated from northern India.These, performing in village squares and temple courtyards, mostly specialized in recounting mythological and moral tales .
Kathakali is a highly stylised classical Indian dance-drama noted for its attractive make-up of characters, their costumes and well-defined body movements presented in tune with the anchor playback music .
. It originated in the country's present day state of kerela.Kathakali originated from a precursor dance-drama form called Ramanattam and owes it share of techniques also to Krishnamattam.
Kuchipudi is the form of Art .its roots buried in the soil of Andhra Pradesh in India, Kuchipudi was born in a remote Village from which it derived its name.the Kuchipudi style of dance was in the form of dance dramas.

Manipuri dance - as the name suggests, originated in Manipur, the north-eastern state of India.manipuri people are very religious minded exclusively attached to Sri Krishna and Sri Radhika.Rabindranath Tagore, the world poet, was a great patron of the Manipuri dance and cultur.
Odissi is an Indian classical dance form from the Eastern state of Orissa. It is one of India's oldest dance forms and it faced problem during the British Raj.Odissi is an Indian classical dance form from the Eastern state of Orissa..From last sixty to seventy years the art form has been reinvented. The art form is also extensively depicted in the sculptures of Brahmeswara temple and Sun Temple at Konark. The odissi of today is sourced from Devadasi or Mahari tradition.
